About Forrest Samuel

Forrest Samuel is a biomechanical engineer with a lifelong fascination with the natural world, mathematics, and biology. He has spent more than 20 years in orthopedic medical device product development, generating new concepts and developing them into finished products with trusted manufacturing partners.

Geometry and math run through all of his work, from precision implants and instruments to the nature-inspired sculptures and functional designs he creates for 3D printing.

Forrest founded FBS Technologies to bring that combination of engineering discipline and curiosity to every project, whether it is a new medical device, a new invention, or a piece of art.

Outside the office: art & 3D printable designs

Away from client work, Forrest follows his love of geometry, fractals, and the forms of the natural world. He designs and prints nature-inspired sculptures, like the Silica Bloom series, along with original functional designs, and shares them as 3D printable files.
